As part of a community led initiative the District Council of Karoonda East Murray proposed to link Wynarka, Karoonda, and Wanbi playgrounds into the Mallee Playground Trail becoming the ultimate play destination in the region. Our team was excited to pick up this large project and deliver a one of a kind play adventure.

Our design team aimed for the stars, with an out-of-this-world themed playspace, inspired by the 1930 meteorite landing in the outskirts of Karoonda. Boasting a custom, three level, 10 metre ForPark Summit tower with two impressive worm tunnels (tunnel slides), the only one in South Australia, makes it a truly unforgettable playground experience. This impressive tower is detailed like a spaceship with nose, wings, launchpad, and astronaut entrance. All panels were custom created and even the tower frame was creatively designed to align fully with the space-theme.

Inclusive swings, wheelchair accessible carousel, and accessible freestanding activities allow any age or ability to join in on this truly unique playground. Swing away in a hammock pod, twinkle twinkle with the musical pipes, or cruise around in the buggy.

This well loved, and well used playspace is worth a visit.
